Version 2.0 of Formidable Forms is amazing in every way. We have so many new features in this release, there is no way to list them all. Here are a few of our favorite new features that make Formidable Forms, well...more formidable.
Improved User Experience
We have enhanced every page and action within the plugin to make building and managing forms easier than ever. The user interface ties perfectly into your WordPress admin panel so using Formidable Forms feels no different from using WordPress. You will love the hundreds of tweaks and enhancements that make complex forms easier. For example, instead of deleting forms completely, you can now move them to the trash just like with your WordPress posts and pages.
New Field Types
Embedded Forms, You can now place one form within another. This is great if you create many different forms that contain many fields in common. Just add the "Embed Form" field to your form and select which form. It's that easy.
Confirmation Fields. Okay, this isn't actually a new field type, but an option for email and password fields. Just select if you want your confirmation field inline or below your field and we'll do the rest. With a confirmation field, both values must match before the form can be submitted.
Repeatable Fields. Ever needed a set of fields to repeat within your form? With our new repeating sections, you can easily add a set of fields that can be filled out multiple times.
New Shortcode Builder
A new and improved shortcode builder allows you to add Formidable content to your pages and posts. Just select what you want to add, set the options and click the "insert" button.
You can currently add Forms, Views, Graphs and Entries to your site using the shortcode builder, but we love using this new tool so much that we have big plans to add more options and functionality in the future.
Emails and Form Actions
The email interface has been completely overhauled. Easily add CC and BCC or add a reply-to address. In addition to the new email interface, all form actions are now in the same place making it is easy to see if your form is sending out 3 emails, creating a post, and sending the user to PayPal.
Visual styling templates
The Visual Styling page is one of the features that sets Formidable Forms apart. Users have always loved being able to style their forms without needing any code. In 2.0 we are introducing styling templates. You can now create as many different style templates and assign them to your forms allowing for different forms to use different templates. We have also added more form elements to the visual styler so you have even more control over what your forms look like.
Improved Free Version
The free version of Formidable Forms available on the WordPress Repository has also been beefed up with more field types, access to form entries, and access to the visual styler to make it perfect for all basic forms.
This update is available for free to all license holders via auto-update. NOTE: If you are running a beta version of 2.0 (2.0b4-2.0rc10) you will need to manually update to version 2.0 due to an issue in the aut0-update software. If you are running a beta version or having trouble with the auto-update feature, Instructions for manually installing the plugin can be found here: https://formidableformscom.bigscoots-staging.com/knowledgebase/install-formidable-forms/

Repeating fields! About time! Great work!

Is there any way to try your form builder before installing your plugin? Most other form builder products have a live demo.
Steve Wells says
We don't have a live demo, but we do have a free version that allows you to get a pretty good feel for how the plugin works, we also offer a 14-day money back guarantee so if you decided it doesn't do what you were hoping, just let us know and we'll take care of it.

This looks fantastic! Looking forward to trying all the new functionality.

Great work. Really appreciate the repeating fields. Thank so much for this.

Great update, you added about 80% of what I have been waiting for. Still some things missing, but hopefully you'll concentrate on MORE updates with FEWER features at a FASTER pace to knock out everything else. Definitely more affordable than Gravity and from a developers perspective SO MUCH EASIER TO USE.
Thank you!
Steve Wells says
Thanks! We are planning on doing more frequent releases. So keep your eyes out for the updates.
Michael Gordon says
Looking good!
One request: In the entries table, it would be most helpful if you could add a column that shows the date that an entry was added, so that you don't have to click each name to view the date of submission for each contact separately. (Or is there already a way to add this column that I'm not aware of)?
Thanks for your consideration!
Steve Wells says
If you click on "Screen Options" in the upper right of your Entires page, there are more options for what can be displayed in the table. Entry Creation Date should be there, so just check that and it should show up in your table.
Michael Gordon says
How I missed that I'll never know. Thanks Steve.
Max Ziebell says
Great! Looking forward to try all new features.

Can you explain how the new Graph Type "Geolocation Map: is intended to work? If we select an address field for the relationship will it plot icons? Or is there another intended use. Perhaps adding color to regional areas based on the above?
I can't find any information on this feature.
Thanks

Sometimes there is a need to display the form within a popup. Many people have asked for it and sometimes it does work with other Lightbox plugins and sometimes it does not due to conflicts.
Even if it works now, it is very likely there will be conflicts in future releases.
So please provide the popup functionality out of the box, so there is no need to use another plugin.
The popup is automatic or user triggered by a button/link click.

I have been waiting for repeating fields for a long time. I actually started looking for a developer to make it because of the need. I didn't get the money in time but now I don't have to because you guys did it for me. Thank you so much. I now can build my very powerful data management tool.
testmypatience says
Can I nest a repeatable section into another repeatable section? I am in need to do that.
Steve Wells says
Nesting repeatable sections isn't currently an option.

I have a project that requires the following:
1) A lot of fields, many of which need to support dropdown with repopulated data. For instance, a field of counties (it would be nice if I could enter state in one field and narrow the list of counties for that state).
2) Some fields may have a lot of characters to store and display
3) A record would initially be flagged as submitted, then need to be changed by an employee to different status', such as assigned, in process, completed, etc.
4) The customer would only see their records and need to be able to filter based on field criteria.
5) Due to the width of some field's data and the number of fields, I need to be able to organize the display format on the page for the customer and employees to view. I have had problems with other products, as they do not allow you to organize the fields for display.
I think Formidable looks promising, but I did not see enough depth to know. Do you think your product can accommodate these requirements?
Thanks
Steve Wells says
Yep, the Pro version should be able to handle all those requirements.
Bob Brace says
Amazing product, it just gets better all the time. Version 2 is simply amazing, repeatable sections just saved me hours of work and allowed me to build a new system in just a few clicks. Thanks to all at Formidable Forms!

I have to say that I have found this a very nice plugin. One deciding factor is its was of use with my screen reader. I was using a free plugin that was more clunky to use. The only thing I would say is that some of the clickable links don't generate speech with the screen reader. But I can use trial and error with those. Thanks so much.
