All the strings in Formidable are fully translatable. Many of the front-facing strings can be changed in your settings. There are also many strings that need to be translated in the po files.
Formidable Lite Translations
WordPress recently introduced a new way of translating plugins. All the strings can be translated and verified over at translate.wordpress.org. Any of the completed languages should be translated there (Swedish, Danish, German, and French), and then the new values are immediately pushed out to everyone using that language.
Premium Plugin Translations
If the string you would like to translate is in the pro version or one of our add-ons, it won't show up over on the WordPress site. Instead, you can go one of these two routes.
Translate.Strategy11.com
- Register for an account at translate.strategy11.com. (This is a new site, and it will continue getting love and refinement.)
- Once logged in, you can translate anything you'd like. Go to the home page, and select the project that needs a translation. You can click "Untranslated" or search for the string you are looking for.
- Click "Export" at the bottom of that page, and export both a .po and an .mo file.
- Drop these to files in your plugins/formidable-pro/languages folder, and you should be good to go.
We will regularly download the translation files and update them in the plugins as well.
PO file Translations
If you're familiar with using POEdit for translating, you can create or update the po file for your language, zip it up, and send it on over to us in a help desk ticket. You can even send us a pull request over on Github.
If you're not familiar with POEdit, a plugin like Loco Translate can help you with an easy interface. This plugin will help you create a po file for your language that you can send over to us.
Whenever you make changes to a file in the plugin, be sure to let us know so your changes don't get lost when you update.
