Download and Install

If you haven't already done so, install and activate Formidable Forms Pro.
If you want to create an application that includes Views or use a template that has Views, go to Formidable → Add-Ons and click the Install button for the Visual Views plugin.

Create a custom application

If you want to create a new application instead of using one of the templates, you can either select existing forms/views or create an empty application and then assign forms and views as they are built.

Create an empty application

Go to Formidable → Applications and click Add New at the top of the page.
Give your custom application a name and select Create empty application to start building it.
Click Add Item at the top of the page.
Select if you want to add a form, view, or page to your application.
If you click the New Form button, you will be redirected to the form builder where you can create a new form or choose from the existing form templates. Choose from the dropdown which application you want to insert this new form.
If you click the Existing form button, you can search and select from the list which forms you want to add to your application. Click the Create a new page link to easily create pages for your application items.

Create an application from forms and views

Go to Formidable → Applications and click Add New at the top of the page.
Give your custom application a name and select Add existing forms and views to start building it.
Search and select from the list of forms that you want to add to your application. After choosing your forms, click the Continue button.
If you have the Visual Views plugin installed, search and select from the list of views you want to add to your application. After choosing your Views, click the Continue button.
Click the Create a new page link to easily create pages for your application items.
Click the Open Application button to be redirected to the new application. It is where you can see all the forms and views included with the applied template.

Create an application from template

When creating an application from a template, the new application is created as a duplicate of the selected template. It is advantageous if your customizations have gone wrong, as you can revert to a working application.

Go to Formidable → Applications and look for the Formidable Applications section.
Search and choose from the list of view templates.
Once you have chosen your preferred template, click the +Add button to preview or create the application.
Click the Install Application button.
Give your new application a name to start building it.
Click the Create a new page link to easily create pages for your application items.
Click the Open Application button to be redirected to the new application. It is where you can see all the forms, views, and pages included with the applied template.

Import/Export an application

Import an application

To import an application, go to the Formidable → Import/Export page and import the forms and views in an XML format.

Export an application

To export an application, you can either:

Go to the Formidable → Import/Export page and export the forms and views in an XML format.
Click the Export button on the selected application page.

Delete an application

You can use the delete icon or the delete link to delete an application.

To delete an application using an icon, go to the Formidable → Applications page and click the Delete icon on the selected application.

To delete an application using a link, follow the steps below.

Click the View all my applications link from the My Applications section.
Click the Delete link right below the application name.
On the prompt, click the Delete application button to confirm. The forms, views, and pages will stay in your database. However, the relation between those items as an application is deleted.

Update an application

When updating an existing application, you can add, edit, or remove an item from the application. To select an application to update, you can click the application from the Applications page or click the View all my applications link to view a list of all your applications.

Add item: Click the Add Item button at the top of the page. You can choose to create a new form, view, page or use an existing one.
Edit item: Click the Edit link below the application name to start editing the item. For example, if the item is a form, clicking Edit will redirect you to the form builder.
Remove item: Click the Remove from application link right below the application name.

Embed an application

When you create an application, you can choose to embed a form or View in different ways. The Embed button can be found on the application detail page.

Select existing page: Select an existing page, and you will be taken to that page with the Formidable Gutenberg block for that form/view already added. You can make adjustments by moving the block to the correct position on the page.
Create new page: Enter the name for the new page, and it will automatically insert the Gutenberg block for that form/view in the newly created page.
Insert manually: Show shortcodes for the form/view with a link to instructions.
